Wish Rani Mukherjee, a very happy birthday!

The light brown eyes, everlasting smile and that husky voice make Rani Mukherjee distinct. She is loved by movie buffs unanimously. Queen of hearts, that she is! True, today she sits pretty as the reigning queen of Bollywood. On March 21, as she turns 30, we wish her a very happy birthday! May the beautiful and talented Rani Mukherjee reign many a heart forever!

Rani Mukherjee made her debut in Bollywood with 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat'. The film failed at the box-office, but she got noticed. Her second film 'Ghulam' opposite Aamir Khan, however, brought her instant fame. As an actress, the hysteria she generated in 'Ghulam' made her stand on a par with top actresses of the Hindi film industry.

In her second hit 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' she played a college bomb-shell with Shah Rukh falling head over heels for her stunning looks. The film became one of the most commercially successful movies. And with 'Black', she proved herself to be the best in the trade. Even the sharp-tongued critics sang peans to Rani's performance as Michelle. It was indeed once-in-a-lifetime film and Rani Mukherjee gave the most heart-wrenching performance.

Rani Mukherjee also had the chance to be associated with actor-director Kamal Haasan and was thrilled to have his film 'Hey Ram' (2000) in her kitty. The film was India's official entry to the 2001 Oscars but it failed to enhance her career chart. She also gave good perforamnces in 'Yuva', 'Hum Tum' 'Saathiya', 'Chalte Chalte', 'Veer-Zaara' and won rave reviews.

Rani Mukherjee's strength is the wonderful on-screen chemistry she shares with her co-actors. Try to visualise her in any movie with any actor—Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan or name any—her chemistry would be just sizzling.

The year that has gone by was not too good for Rani Mukherjee as she failed to deliver a hit. She acted in 'Saawariya', 'Laga Chunri mein Daag' and 'Tara Rum Pum'. All of them evoked an average response. However, that surely is not thumbs down to one of the best actresses in Bollywood. For, she is the one who believes in putting in tremendous personal effort in the roles she plays. She chooses her roles with care and then infuses them with her screen presence, emotions and acting skills.

Her next project will be opposite Saif Ali Khan lined up for a June 27th release. We hope the movie hits the right chord with audience and she rescripts the 'Hum Tum' success in Kunal Kohli's yet to be titled film.

Recently, she hit headlines for being Aditya Chopra’s lady love. So, is it that the Queen of hearts has found her Knight in shining armour, at last?
